Girls Field Hockey Camp

Girl’s Field Hockey is one of the most popular high school sports in the suburban DC area, and until now there were no camps that served girls between 10 and 15 years old interested in learning the sport – leaving many high school coaches to teach incoming freshman all the aspects of the game. GP Sports Camps is excited to announce the launch of a Girls Field Hockey Camp for the summer of 2009. This camp will be uniquely focused on teaching the basic fundamentals of field hockey to girls who are potentially interested in playing the sport as they approach high school.

Surrounded by a staff of current high school coaches, collegiate and high school players, Lisa Tehan will direct a camp that starts with the very basics of stick skills, rules of the game, and fundamental principals – moving into a more team-oriented approach to the game as the week moves along. Emphasis will be placed on creating a positive and fun environment that will encourage the girls’ appreciation for the game and, hopefully, encourage them to continue to pursue the game as they approach the high school level.
