Blake Kaplan
Executive Director

Blake Kaplan is the Executive Director of GP Sports Camps and oversees all year-round camp operations, curriculum development, and staff recruitment.  Blake has over 10 years experience with summer camps in the DC area.  He has been involved with every aspect of Sports medicine, trains athletes from the professional to adolescent level, certified by NSCA and continues to represent SPARQ, Nike’s elite trainer program.  Currently, Blake serves as the Director of Strength and Conditioning and assistant coach at Georgetown Prep.  Blake has a strong commitment to the physical and mental development of adolescents, he continues to strive to create the most productive and innovative environment to develop athletes of the future.

Rita Laddbush
Assistant Director

Rita Laddbush is the Assistant Director at GP Sports Camps. She is involved in year round operations and is responsible for camper enrollment, staff recruitment/development, and team training. Rita is a Maryland native from Silver Spring and attended high school at the Academy of the Holy Cross. There she was actively involved in sports specifically soccer, basketball, and softball. Rita received her bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

Joseph M. Patterson
Director of Operations

Joe Patterson is the Director of Operations for GP Sports Camps and is responsible for the day-to-day operations for all camps.  From the start of the day until the finish, his operations team ensures that each camp family’s experience is the best possible.  Joe is also involved in curriculum development, staff relations, camper/parent interactions, and daily camp needs.  Joe grew up in Silver Spring, MD and is a graduate of Georgetown Prep. A former member of the Georgetown Prep football team, he is still active in the athletic community at Prep.  He currently attends Cornell University and is achieving a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics and Management.

Kelly Cann
Administrative Assistant

Kelly Cann is the Administrative Assistant at GP Sports Camps. She assists in the camp office with HR, enrollment, and handles general camp inquiries. Kelly grew up in Rockville, MD and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School, where she played field hockey and softball. She is currently at Coastal Carolina University and is achieving a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management. Kelly looks forward to being a member of the GP community!


Todd Benke
Baseball

Todd Benke, the Georgetown Prep JV baseball coach, has previous coaching experience at both the youth and collegiate levels.  A graduate of Walt Whitman HS, Todd played in the Maryland Crown All-Star Game and for Team Maryland, before continuing his career at the United States Naval Academy.  As a four-year starter at 3B/SS, multiple all-conference and all-region selections landed him in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. He still stands on the top ten lists for 49 season and career offensive categories.

Dwayne Bryant

Coach Bryant is in his 10th year as Georgetown Prep’s Head Varsity Basketball Coach. Over the past ten years, Dwayne has coached the Little Hoyas to a record of 134-66, two IAC League Championships, and one IAC Tournament Championship. A former McDonald’s High School All-American, Dwayne went on to be a four year starter at Georgetown University under Hall of Fame Coach John Thompson. Dwayne currently ranks 5th in assists, 8th in steals, and is a leader in three-point shooting in Georgetown Basketball’s record books. Dwayne’s vision for the basketball camp is to create a competitive and positive environment that encourages each athlete to get the most out of each drill, scrimmage, day, and week of camp – always going home in the afternoon with the ability to say “I made myself a better basketball player and person today.”

Girls Lacrosse Camp

Lisa is currently the Physical Education Teacher at St Jane de Chantal in Bethesda, Maryland. Lisa comes from and wealth of experience in the field of girls lacrosse and field hockey. A native of Moorestown, New Jersey, Lisa played her college lacrosse as a four-year varsity lacrosse captain at Glassboro State College. During her career at Glassboro, Lisa earned All-American accolades while capturing the school’s single season and career scoring records with 63 and 163 goals respectively. After graduating from Glassboro, Lisa immediately turned her focus and passion for lacrosse to coaching the sport: first as a Graduate Assistant and then as the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Glassboro. Since moving to Bethesda, Lisa has coached several elite girls lacrosse teams and attended many US Lacrosse National Youth Festivals. Lisa is entering her third summer of coaching Girl’s Lacrosse Camp at Prep and will lead the great staff of the first-year of Field Hockey Camp as well.

Guy Fraiture
Boys Soccer Camp

Guy Fraiture has been Georgetown Prep’s head varsity soccer coach since 1978. In his 32 years at Prep, Coach Fraiture, a member of Georgetown Prep’s Athletic Hall of Fame, has won 11 IAC championships including four consecutive IAC titles with Hall of Fame player A. J. Wood. Equally impressive was his 32 game win streak. In 1994, the United States Soccer Federation named Coach Fraiture Belgian Ambassador in recognition of his many contributions to soccer in the Washington, D.C. area.

Frans Aarts

With over 40 years of soccer coaching experience, Frans brings a wealth of knowledge not only in soccer, but in youth sports in general to GP Sports Camps. Born in the Netherlands, Frans has held the position of Director of Coaching for FC Etzella, worked on numerous summer camps, and overseen adult programs as well. After moving permanently the United States in 2005, Frans has taken the position of Director of Youth Programs for Toca Juniors – a club out of Potomac Maryland. Frans also serves as the Head Coach of the U18 Bethesda Arsenal – a top ranked team in the United States and is only one of few professional soccer coaches from the Netherlands currently coaching in the states.

Mike Kubik

Wrestling Camp

Mike Kubik has been the head wrestling coach at Georgetown Prep since 2002.  Coach Kubik has won 6 consecutive IAC Championships and led Prep to a 2nd place finish in the state of Maryland in 2010.  A graduate of Duke University and Stanford University, Mike Kubik is a favorite in the classroom as a Latin teacher.  Besides teaching, Coach Kubik brings GP Sports Camps a wealth of coaching experience at the youth, high school, and collegiate level.  He has been an assistant coach on Prep’s nationally ranked lacrosse team for 17 years. Kubik also coached middle school lacrosse and football and spent time as an assistant lacrosse coach at Penn State University.
